The main aim of the DKG (Distributed Knowledge Graphs) project, launched in September 2020, was to have a comprehensive overview of knowledge graph technologies and research, and to enhance development in this field.

HUN-REN SZTAKI researchers participated in a BATTwin project workshop in Oldenburg

Researchers of HUN-REN SZTAKI participated in an intensive one-day workshop in Oldenburg on 03rd February 2025, for the CINEA-funded BATTwin project. The meeting was specifically a gathering of the HUN-REN SZTAKI-led working group on the development of process-level digital twins, where the participating researchers discussed the integration of models under development.

First HUN-REN Cloud Meetup was a great success

The first national HUN-REN Cloud Meetup was held at the HUN-REN Wigner Research Center for Physics in Csillebérc, Budapest, where the most prominent scientific projects using the research infrastructure were presented along with the development plans for 2025.

HUN-REN SZTAKI leading the efforts for offline and online data architecture and data security in the newly started Horizon Europe DiGreeS project aiming at providing novel digital solutions for the Green Steel Value Chain

The consortium "Demonstration of Digital Twins for a Green Steel Value Chain", or DiGreeS for short, launched on 1 November 2024, aims to promote the sustainable development of the European steel industry by coordinating the joint activities of a total of eleven European partner institutions, mainly through the application of smart manufacturing and digital twin solutions. Several departments of the HUN-REN SZTAKI are involved in the project: cooperation within the institute creates the opportunity to achieve synergy between technological security and innovative solutions.

ARP opening

On 25th November 2024 the official launch event of the HUN-REN Data Repository Platform, Our Data Gate is Open, was held as a hybrid event, in HUN-REN Alfréd Rényi Institute of Mathematics and online. On the conference leaders of the HUN-REN Research Network, and the ARP founding institutes, HUN-REN TK (HUN-REN Centre for Social Sciences), HUN-REN-SZTAKI and HUN-REN Wigner Research Centre for Physics welcomed ARP platform with its unique features supporting research.

The EXCELL H2020 project, coordinated by HUN-REN SZTAKI, is among the 40 success stories celebrating 40 years of EU programmes supporting scientific research

2024 marks the 40th anniversary of the European Union's science programme: the first EU funding framework specifically for research and development was launched in 1984, and the European Commission is celebrating the occasion with 40 "Success Stories". One of them is the Horizon 2020 project "Actions for Excellence in Smart Cyber-Physical Systems applications through exploitation of Big Data in the context of Production Control and Logistics", EXCELL for short, launched in 2016, in which HUN-REN SZTAKI coordinated institutions from four countries.
